Backup Camera - Power Linx??

We just got our "new to us" 2007 30' Classic last weekend. I'm in the process of installing a wired back up/rear camera on the AS. I was reviewing the AS User Manual and towards the back is the following paragraph (in the jpeg file attached below).

Any idea what this means?
Power Linx doesn't seem to have any information about this.
Is there some "pre-wiring" that I can use?

This is an intriguing paragraph. In particular it would be great if there was some pre-wiring to the back near the license plate.

Suggest you call AS customer service and ask. They are "Johnny on the Spot" for questions like this. Let us know what you find out if you do call.

I took your advice and contacted AS - here's what they emailed me:

"Hello, We did put a pre wire for a back up camera on a few trailers around that time and we have no record of which ones have it. The wire was near the license plate inside the skin. The best thing to do would be to connect the camera to the license plate wire."

I'm not sure what exactly they mean but as I go to hookup the camera I'll look to see if I can find the wire he's referring to. If I find it, I'll post a picture.

Looks like a search for a wire is now underway. I would expect it to be labeled if it's there.

If it is only 2 wire then probably only power. If you are doing a hardwire camera it probably has at least 3 wires (power, ground, video).

If you connect to the license plate lamp wire your camera would be powered when ever the running lights are on.

I installed my own hard wired system from Amazon purchased parts and powered the camera that way. Seems to work fine. I can switch between the camera on the back of the truck and trailer camera. We think of them as "backup" cameras but they are really a great supplement to the mirrors when running in heavy traffic

At some point last year Camping World was selling a magnetic mount wireless camera and monitor, which I bought. It looks like this one: Portable Wireless car backup magnetic camera color monitor RV Hitch Truck Trailer Rear View Backup Wireless Camera RVCam Day & Night Vision

I riveted a 4-inch square of stainless steel (the type that works with a magnet) in the center of the back bumper cover of my '87 Excella, and this provides me with a back-up camera should I need it. I also use this camera as a hitch camera.
