Awning bracket coming loose

The awning bracket on my 72 Argosy has loosened and deformed a bit. Before I start the repair project I thought it wise to ask what the bolt bites into. Looking at the awning attachments, I think I've got a couple of bolts that are stripped out. Are these lag bolts or machine bolts? If they are lag bolts, do they lag into a wood block?

They are lag bolts. They are supposed to go through the rub rail, outer skin, floor channel, and plywood floor. All of those.
