AS restore of DIY TV
I don't know if this has been posted, but the Classic Rides show on the DIY channel is restoring a 1970 AS OVerlander. You can review the segments here:

We've been watching this show for the last couple weeks and have found it to be quite informative. I hope they re-air the series soon as we missed the first few episodes (including the bathroom restoration - bummer)

Oh cool... just enough time for me to sign up for the DIY channel! It's available through Cox digital cable here in AZ, but isn't part of the basic cable.

Channel 133 on Cox, Phoenix. I am not sure what package I have that gets it, but it is not HD!

Thanks for the heads up. That is the same year and model as my AS.

Yes, I plan on DVRing them all and watching them at some time other than 6 AM.
If you can't wait, a forum member named KenWinning has posted most of the series to Youtube. Here's a link to his post where he provides details:

Oh, and a correction to my statement above-- they actually begin airing on March 25th, not the 26th.

Clarification--- At the DIY web site I'm seeing the Airstream series (on Classic Rides series) as starting 3/25 7am EDT rather than 3/26 at 7am.
Am I blind?

Nope, you're not blind-- I put the wrong date!
My apologies.

I believe this Airstream is now up for sale with Barrett-Jackson at the Palm Beach, FL auction this month: Item 95 on this page (I can't link directly to the trailer's page).

I caught the DIY on YouTube. Thanks KenWinning! I was really inspired by the show! And of course they make it seem so easy. But it does remove some of the fear factor. And thanks Alumatube, I wondered what they did with the AS after the show. SuzynBobby

it seems a shame they neglected to do the floor or frame. I think that was a gross oversight on their behalf. Aesthetics can be done at anytime but structure can only be done once. Someone will buy that trailer and be forced to deal with all of that stuff down the line.

And believe me the Air conditioner DOES NOT come off as easily as they show it on the show.
