AS awning sun screen
Would anyone recommend the sunshade brand name of a sun screen you attach to your awning. We went into campers world and the sales person did not know if any they had could be used on an AS awning. Thank you. We are currently in Death Valley and it is hottttttt.

Any brand will work. Use snaps to hold them on.

You're in DV now? All I can say is you're a brave person!
I don't have a brand recommendation, but a solution is agricultural shade cloth, with a finished edge and grommets. We have a sun screen that came with our first trailer, but it's really heavy, and I won't use it. Check the Internet for ag supply businesses. If they have a lighter color, that would be better than black. We used Oregon Bag Company (OBC) in Canby.

This will not help you now. Airstream Life sells solar shade panels from Zip Dee. They come with snaps in sunshade you have to install other half of snap in your awning roller. We saw them at Alumapalooza 7 this year. Remember to stay hydrated.

Airstream Life has a Sunscreen on their store Web page that's matched to your Zip Dee awning. It comes in 2 different widths dependent upon your trailer length. Price is reasonable, quality is high, and shipping is free.

Not hard to do if you're handy with a drill. About half an hour. Get spacing right and a little pressure to punch into the roller.

I had this issue in Az. I tried the off the shelf brands, but they didn't fit the geometry of the awning, were sloppy and were difficult to hang. I ordered one on line from http://www.rvshadeshack.com/products/privacysunscreen. They were cheaper, better quality, and a perfect fit. They also have a great selection of patterns and colors. There are instructions for measurement to assure you get the right fit and it arrived in about three days.

Just out of DV . Could not go outside the AS for long, as we left Furnace Creek our brake warning light came on. The grades were long and slow. Made us a bit concerned. We are in Bishop now and will go to garage and replace front brakes. My husband used the trailer brakes and they work, thank goodness. However he managed to adjust them and they are grabbing to hard, he will try to set them back to normal after car brakes replaced. This is the first challenge we have had since leaving Ontarto on August the 4th.
