Looking for an appraiser in the Naples, Florida area. Any suggestions?

I recently needed to appraise my Airstream (just purchased) for insurance agreed price. The folks at Farm and City Insurance (FCIS) suggested I-VAN. Found an appraiser and was very satisfied with the appraisal.

Just out of curiosity, how does Polk Assoc appraise a trailer that's located half way across the US?

Do they go by pictures, year of A/S, & amount of updates? And for a lower value unit - i.e. less than $15,000 to $20,000, how do they go about charging for the appraisal?

ps I had mine done 8 years ago by a dealer just for the cost of some parts I bought... Probably not a very valid appraisal, but it was accepted by the insurers..

It is all done by pictures and the details/description provided by the owner.

I doubt his price is adjusted based on the trailer value. He didn’t know my trailers potential value before he provided me the price. His price was inline with the going market rate.

All the appraisal companies I came across only did it through pictures.

Ill add a thumbs up for James Polk and associates. He is a long term Airstream owner and a member here on the forums. I believe he has also renovated older units so he knows the what we are up against when trying to obtain a fair appraisal for agreed value insurance policies. I used his services and had no problems when I went to buy my agreed value policy. Professional documentation is important to me and the insurer should you have a claim.
I don't really know if a professional appraisal will relate to the sale of a unit, market value may differ. But, youve got it in hand and it won't hurt. I felt it was money well spent.
