'77 IS 31' pump up tongue jack
Can anyone identify the pump up / release down hydraulic tongue jack? Would like to restore / rebuild it as to replacing it. Hopefully will have more lift inches. Can not find any names or other info on jack. There has to be a way to access its workings. There is a round 12 handle that is used to pump the tongue up. The valve in the upper area is opened to release the fluid and lower the tongue. In advance, I thank any and all contributors. JC
Ah, memory lane. I had one of those on my very first Airstream, a '70 21' (or was it 23'). At any rate, it died and as I recall, even back in the late 70's when I had it it could not be repaired. Now, this was long ago, and maybe I am wrong, but you may not be able to find much help on them now.
I had never seen or heard of such a thing... but wouldn't you know it, you can still get a hydraulic tongue jack.
I guess it might be good for an environment where you want easier action than a hand crank but don't want to rely on an electric system, but it seems to cost more than some electric ones!
