'66 Tradewinds Food Trailer Restoration

I'm new to the forums but I just thought I would start posting pictures of the progress of the shell off restoration of a 1966 Tradewind. I'm removing the asphalt like substance from the inside skins. I haven't seen any pictures like this but on mine they completely covered the endcaps.

Yesterday in 97 degree weather I took an infrared thermometer and measured the temperature difference where it was black and where there was none of the adhesive on a replaced panel. It was 105 degrees on the inside of the bare panel and 146 degrees on the inside with the black adhesive. Where the sun wasn't hitting it it was the same as the outside temperature. This has me thinking that it's going to be worth the trouble of removing it. Plus, when I get the outside polished up it will help even more.

Don't worry I'm not modifying any of the windows or making a fold out cover. The food trailer is going to keep all the original lines.

Hi Cody. This is Jerry Don Daniel you met yesterday at your shop. Awesome projects you got going on down there. I simply loved that 58. You can friend me on facebook. I am interested in some of the unused stuff out of the 66 if and when you decide. You asked about the black water tank. I looked and its about 4 inches thick so it is under the skin.
Stay in touch my friend and keep up the good work.
I met a bunch of fellow airstreamers yesterday.
