2017 FC 23FB Vent-a-hood

The light in the vent-a-hood in my 2017 FC 23FB is non-functional. The vent still works, so the unit is getting power. I am good at trouble shooting, but need to know how to get inside the vent-a-hood.

Thanks

(Tried posting this in the 2016-current flying cloud forum, but got zero responses.)

Did you ever figure out how to replace that light? I have the same issue. There must be a way to replace the bulb without breaking something. I found a few threads about "upgrading" to LED lights but no replacement parts mentioned anywhere I could find. Baraldi hood light.

No. Never got a single answer. I got frustrated about halfway through the 5 week camping trip and whopped (a technical term) pretty firmly on the light switch, and the light came on. It has worked ever since. I figure I have a loose connection at the switch. After we finish camping for the season, I will look into it further. (My daughter and son-in-law are expecting delivery of their new toy hauler 5th wheel next week, and she wants us to go out camping with them.)

Thanks for that. I doubt I will be as lucky as you.........but I'll try your "technical term" method first. I'm going down there (San Diego) today and I'll report back. I think if it's a bulb........the replacement shouldn't be too hard to track down or maybe LED's. I'll try to get some photos if it gets sketchy.

Are you having a problem with the stove vent hood? If so, the Halogen lights can be replaced by removing the light fixture from the fan housing. The fixture pulls out to access the bulb. The fixture is held in place with spring clips that are integrated with the housing. Had the same problem. The fixture came out with a bit of persistence. However, on first inspection that fact was not apparent. The fixtures are very tightly held in place by the clips.

The bulb was not easy to find. Actually it probably is, if you know what to look for. I took the bulb to a "We sell all Light Bulbs" store and they matched it up for me. Suspect they are available at marine supply stores as well.

The field force adjustment tactic is often employed when the correct approach is hidden from a logical inspection. It may be best to refrain from that approach and use a flashlight until the solution is more obvious.

If both lights fail to function, then a wiring or switch issue may be the problem. It is my understanding that one owner modified the fan assembly to improve performance. I assume the whole unit was removed to access the internal components. That would be my approach to a circuit issue.

A flashlight would be my approach until I returned from a trip. Pat

Pat explained it better than I could have. 10w T3 size. I think I have seen them before. Shouldn't be a problem. Definitely a bulb in my case.

Outside low voltage lighting section at HD or Lowes. Replacement bulb for most of those type of lights.

We have different vent-a-hoods. Here is mine. The long thin strip is an LED light strip. However, the problem with mine is not the bulb, it is the switch. I have a loose connection.
