2017 30' - tongue jack mount - is this normal?
I just noticed that my jacket slightly tilted versus perfectly vertical.
Upon inspection I noticed that whoever installed the tongue tack at the factory placed a lock ring between the jack mountain plate and the trailer frame mountain surface. This is causing the jack mounting surface not to be flush with the trailer tongue surface.
My 2008 25' never had this single lock washer.
The other two bolts holding the jack to the frame do not have this washer and are more or less flush.
Not to mention it looks like they cross threaded one of the other bolts. Seems like a sloppy install and I wanted to check if others have this lock ring in place or not on the forward mountain bolt.
See pictures.

For what it's worth, Mine does NOT have the washer. All 3 of my bolts are washerless.

I had to change my jack when it quit working. It had one star washer under one corner. My understanding is that it's to provide a good ground.

As it happens, my jack crapped out yesterday while returning from an AS Rally. When I got home, I removed it & found the one star washer, which I inferred was for an electrical ground (although it was heavily rusted).

Yes, the washer ensures a good ground for the tongue jack motor. You most probably have tried this, but if the washer connection is badly corroded, clean it up and try the jack again. The corrosion may have created enough voltage drop (resistance) where it could not lift the trailer tongue.

Mine is exactly the same - and the jack bubble is thus not showing level when the trailer is level

I recently changed out my jack. New one came w 3 star washers and was level after install because I used all 3. 3X ground as well. Suggest adding 2 star washers.

You can't use 3 washers since the Jack will not correctly align with the support bracket below it. I believe Airstream does this so there is tension between the ram and tube assembly on one side, this tension prevents the trailer from rocking back and forth when the trailer is resting on the Jack.
How do I know this?
I thought the same thing when I replaced my jack:
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f44/...ed-164742.html
So I replaced the support bracket and perfectly aligned the top and bottom holes, now my trailer rocks a bit more when camping. I should have dropped by the Airstream dealer so I could notice all the trailers are like that.
I suppose it's also possible because Airstream can't weld and they use the washer to provide alignment between the top and bottom plates.
You can find the Atwood installation instructions below, there are supposed to be 3 star washers on the jack flange not below it.

I just bought a replacement jack and the instructions said it was to insure a good ground. There will line up ok with one washer or 3.
