2016 26U Axel Question

Hello all,

I’m considering a 26U that when looking underneath, the Axel has a bend upward to it. Is this normal?

See as you look toward the far side tire how it bends upward?

Thanks

Normal, all axles have a bend. I believe it's to prestress them for travel.

It is normal as long as it looks the same from both ends. As the previous poater said, that is ro prestress or preload it for travel. In 20 years when it flattens out and the rubber inside the tube stiffens it will be why you'll need to replace the axle.

Ask away, we all were newbies once.

I had a concern about the belly pan in the photo as well. It appears to bow down a little in the middle. Again, I don’t know if this is normal or something to be concerned about?

Thanks

Hi

The belly pan is just a piece of sheet metal. It will never be perfectly dead flat. Rumble down the road for a few years and it's not going to be that shiny and clean either

Both concerns are perfectly normal. Both issues are as well. No worries.
