2015 Flying Cloud 25fb New AC needed

Hi all, I am brand new to the Airstream community. Just purchased a 2015 Flying Cloud, with an AC that no longer blows cold air. The prior owner believes it has run out of coolant. I am under the impression that coolant cannot be refilled because it is a closed system. I have ordered a replacement Penguin II high capacity AC system with a heat pump, as this is what the trailer had previously, but the unit is on back order with no estimated time for orders to be fulfilled. I ordered from Camping World. I’m trying to determine:

1) How necessary is a heat pump if the trailer already has a furnace?
2) Can anyone recommend another dealer online for the unit? General experience with Camping World? I’m disappointed I was charged $2k for a unit that has no delivery time frame and was not notified until I reached out to them due to a shipping delay.

Thank you.

Stick it out for the Heat Pump unit. You will use that feature often. We have had 2 AS, a 2017 and now a 2019 and use the Heat Pump often. The furnace is really great when needed but I would not want it to be my only source of heat.
