We've had our trailer for about a year and a half and have been quite pleased with the quality of construction. We've always left the trailer out in the elements and have no leaks so far (that we know of.)
We've had an issue with the stove lighter on one burner from time to time to time and we had a leaky shower door. Both items were fixed at Jackson Center last fall. We have another appointment after Alumapalooza to get a short list of little things addressed before the warranty expires.
When we were contemplating an Airstream purchase, I read some of the "horror stories" on this Forum and wondered what we were getting ourselves into. We forged ahead anyway with the Airstream purchase because I could not stand the interior finishes on any SOB trailer and I am 100% pleased. We also discovered the "Airstream Community" which was something that we did not give much thought to before the purchase but which has provided us with a constant source of pleasure ever since. We've met a lot of Airstream people on the road with whom we've become friends. I can't imagine that if we had bought a Jayco (for example) that we would have bonded with Jayco owners everywhere as we have with Airstreamers.
It would appear that we may have lucked out and gotten a relatively trouble free unit while yours has a few more challenges. However, it sounds like your dealer is working hard to please you and that is a good thing. Keep the faith and keep on the dealer until you are satisfied. In the long run you will remember the fun you had on the road and the start up issues will fade from your memory soon enough.
