1997 Widebody Ducted AC added roof conversion
So lot's of discussions on ducted AC conversions. I have a 97 Classic 30' that I have decimated down to the bones and am putting back together. Right now waiting on the delivery of the 8 gage Ancor Marine wire to re-wire it from 30 amp to 50 amp for the extra AC I will be adding. Actually will be replacing the existing original AC with a 13,500 and High Capacity Dometic Penguin II AC system.
I want ducted and although I am a short 5'10" I really don't want to cut down on interior height. So here is what I have been looking to do, want to see if it is impossible or doable. I have found 2"high square HVAC ducting, since I am in a wide body 1997 similar shape to the new models could I run the ductwork on the top and then place a layer of aluminum over to top to mimic the hump on the 16+ models? Would have to run supports vertically as to satisfy the ductwork as well as attacking to the existing horizontal frame bars. Possible?
