1959 Flying Cloud / Land Yacht Restore

Here are some pics of my AS I recently purchased. I drive it to Austin from San Angelo on the 1 day/night this part of the country has seen rainfall. I bare-knuckled this baby home after replacing the tires and split wheels in San Angelo.

I am going to attempt to restore this baby, doing as much of the work myself.

I have a million questions and have already learned a lot from reading through the forums.

Step 1 - My plan is to remove the shell and work on the trailer; however, as much advice and encouragement you can offer, I'll take it.

Question, I thought I bought a Flying Cloud; however, there is a Land Yacht logo on the exterior... I feel like I complete idiot asking, but is the FC a model of the Land Yacht; or did I just buy a Land Yacht? (It's got to be uphill from here

For that year, Flying Cloud means the length, 22'.
"Land Yacht" is the trim package.

You did buy a Flying Cloud, with a Land Yacht trim package.

You may have already found it, but the Airstream website has a tremendous amount of information on all the old spec sheets, brochures, etc. for the vintage trailers - check out Airstream, Inc :: Specifications to start.

Great pictures - looks like you've got a wonderful project!

rowdyATX;

I have a handle for the door on your trailer. PM me and I will give you the info.
Looks like you have a handle in one of the pics. If so, disregard this post.
