1953 Silver Streak Clipper
My dad and I recently bought a 1953 Silver Streak Clipper, its 19ft, 22ft overall. The exterior is in pretty good shape, the previous owner polished it but did a crummy job, they fixed the windows, and did cosmetic work to the exterior. They changed the tail lights to newer LED lights, and we don't like them. We want to find out what was original and put those back on. The trailer has a factory interior, at one time someone installed a bathroom. we plan to remove the entire interior and put in our own. But we know that throwing away this interior would be stupid, so would like to find someone that would use it. So basically is anyone interested in a clipped interior? and Please if anyone knows what the stock tail lights were and how to get them would be so helpful.
PS. Anyone that knows a lot about these thinks we would love to talk to.
Thanks weston

There is, believe it or not, a forum specifically for 1953 Airstream Clippers here.

1953 Silver Streak Clipper
I just bought one also. Mines a shell only. What is your floor plan? Front diner? I could sure use some interior pictures. I am doing a shell off resto with a new interior. Current interior consists of the original toilet.
What is your S/N? Mines 2412. It was a barn find no title and I am guessing a 52/53. I am dealing with the wait for a lost title hence the age guess. I recall a brochure and I think there was a front rear widow change and a pipe frame to ladder frame change also. I am no expert and info is slim.
Good luck with your project...

Thanks. I am posting the other Silver Streak. I have yet to see a full interior. Mine is a bit rougher. Is the interior painted in Zolathane? I will a set of close up shots of my rear lights. I getting my girl this weekend. What's your plan for a floor plan. Right now I'm leaning toward rear main berth /couch front kitchen. A shower/ Japanese soaking tub. Small dinette. Are you replacing the stove and refer?

I know this is a very old thread...but info on SS Clippers is sooo slim, it’s worth a shot...
Robert,
How did you make out with your Clipper reno?
I just acquired a ‘51 without a bathroom. i’d like to use the closet in the middle to add one, and would like to find an original toilet to restore and use...
I’d love to see any pics you have of your project.
Kathleen

Our 1953 SS Clipper with newly installed bathroom
Hi Kathleen: We just installed a bathroom in the closet, and while small, it will get the job done! Let me know if you want me to send pics! Cris and Dan

Cristobol,
Do you have any pics of the Clipper bathroom you’ve installed?

Hey Kathleen - thanks for bringing this thread back to life! I just purchased what I believe is a 1952 (no title but serial number 2273, model 7) and am so excited to restore it, but info on these is hard to come by. So I'd be interested in your ideas as well as seeing cristobal's bathroom
Chris
