What is function of brown wire on Actibrake

It seems as though I have my Actibrake wired incorrectly on my 2006 classic 31. The black 10g 12V hotwire from the TV is supposed to be wired directly to the Actibrake and not to the 12V positive buss bar and then to the Actibrake. But trailer batteries still need a charge from TV to maintain trailer batteries. The wiring diagram shows the brown wire from the Actibrake connected to the trailer battery. But the wire size seems to be 16g. Is this too small to maintain charge in trailer batteries????? What other use could this brown wire be performing?? Can you hook up a 10g black wire from the 12v wire going into the Actibrake but restrict current so that it only goes one way ie: into the trailer battery but not allow charge from trailer battery to get to the Actibrake????

Why not leave everything else as it is, and run a dedicated wire from the batteries to the brake actuator?
