I have noticed that the green indicator light on the Tag Axle Brake Controller mounted on the left side of the Steering Column remains green even when the ignition switch is turned off, and the Kill switch for the coach batteries is off, and the engine battery is removed from the battery box. I am wondering if this is normal, or indication of a shot in the system. I have also noted that when the "Power" knob on the top of the controller is rotated, the light changes from green to red.

You might resend this post in the motorhome section. As a trailer owner I am really confused.

I have a Tekonsha controller and the single green light indicates a few things, when it is on and the engine is off it tells me the pigtail on the trailer is connected to the truck and trailer brakes are usable, but if I disconnect the pigtail the light goes off. The green light will also turn red as I apply brakes or apply via the manual slide switch, the brightness of the red is adjustable by the gain switch which is applying more brakes as the light gets redder. I believe the controller gets its power from the tow vehicle. If you pulled the battery and the light is on its telling you something is wrong I would think.

Based on responses, I obviously should have posted this thread in the Motor Home Forum - although it refers to the steering column in the text. If I knew how to move it I wouild, thanks for the comments.
