Reinstalling Jordon Ultima in my new 2008 Suburban
I replaced my 2004 Suburban with a 2008 Suburban and I need reinstall my Jordan Ultima brake controller. The wiring harness is already installed in the Suburban so all I need to do is hook up the wires and cable to the break peddle. Has anyone done this for the 2008 Suburban. Any issues.
Thanks
Don

I have not looked at the brake pedal assembly on the 2008 Sub but on my 1997 I had to make a 2 to 1 pulley assembly to reduce the cable travel down to the one in. that Jordan has within its controller. The reason being I could not mount the cable high enough in the brake pedal arm to achieve the desired cable travel.
If this is still the case with the newer Subs you may want to do the same or the trailer brakes will come on full long before the truck brakes are fully applied.

Reinstalled
I have reinstalled the Jordan brake controller to my 2008 Suburban and connected the re, white and blue wires to the red, white and blue wires from the factory installed wiring harness in the 2008 suburban and then connected to the trailer. Nothing! I checked the connections with my meter and I am getting power from the red and white leads from the wiring harness. But no green light, no red numbers. I checked the fuse on the truck under the hood and it is fine.
I must not be doing something that I should have done?

I am not sure you can assume the color codes are the same between Jordan and GM. Also you should not see voltage on 2 wires.
Disconnect everything. You should see voltage on one of the GM wires, should be a heavier wire. This is the power to the Red wire on the Jordan. One of GM wires should test to Ground. This is the White wire on the Jordan. One wire should test no voltage and not a ground. This should be the wire back to the connector at the rear of the TV. This is the Blue wire on the Jordan.
This is the Jordan web page that has the connections half way down the page.

I found the problem
The color codes of the Jordan and GM are the same, Red power, white ground and blue brakes. After doing some research back through some GM truck forums I found out GM does not connect the red power wires to the UBEC (Underhood Bussed Electrical Center), that's the fuse box under the hood. There are 2 sets of wires that are rolled up and taped off that must be found and connected to the UBEC. I found a service bulletin that said this is not a "do it yourself job" and should be handled by a Mr. Goodwrench technician. Then I found the attached document from someone on the GM truck forum who provided the complete brake controller install instruction for 2007 and later model GM trucks. It answers all the questions and provides step by step instructions and pictures.
I going to connect the two re wires to the UBEC today. and I should be back in business, I will follow-up later.

Jordon brake controler
Just a follow up, the Jordon worked perfectly after I installed it. But I am now getting new axles and disc brakes for the A/S so I will be needing a new brake controler that will work on the disc brakes. The Jordon does not. So if anyone wants the Jordon for their on own personal use, send me a PM.

We have had great success with the Hayes controllers, for our customers, who had disc brakes or have added disc brakes.
There are two models available, one thats good and another that's great, depending on a persons budget.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a Jordan Brake Controller? I'm pulling a 26 ft. Overlander with a Ram 3500 Cummins. Thanks, Jim

The Jordan controller has been on hold ever since Mr. Jordan sold the company, over a year ago. I have talked to them several times and it looks like they can't find a Chinese company to make them.
You might get up to date if you call the number noted on this page Monday.
