no. the installation/user manual has very small pages with big type

seriously, setup is a snap...

what i'm finding out is, make sure the TT system is setup with your controller...

For those using the Tekonsha did you also install a Pulse Preventer. Apparently it's needed to prevent the use of the four way flashers from activating the brakes.

Up until recently, have always used Tekonsha, but cannot recall whether

the 4ways activated the brakes, but then again I can't remember ever using

the 4ways while moving.

How would the sob's know which way your turning.......lol

the prodigy will not work well with the new elec/hydraulic brakes...per airstream and MY experience....only the p3 or the hayes genesis.

I had the opposite experience. My Prodigy worked well 04 F-250 with my Actibrake system in the 06 Classic. My Integreated tow command in my 06 F-250 is even better!

exact same problems with the prodigy....problem is depending on who you talk to...actibrake or tacomsah...or airstream....last year everyone was saying that the actibrake folks had adjusted their actuator to handle the prodigy...ergo...i insatlled the prodigy...disaster! i called prodigy yesterday and inquired about the new P3...was told they have a fairly good success since it was introduced in may this year....stick with the hayes genesis...it works is the bottom line.

michelle...be aware...the prodigy will go out at some point if you have elec/hydraulic brakes...and when it does it's expensive because it toasts the actuator which is non-repairable...must be replaced...and it will also blow the charging circuit in your tow vehicle...to say nothing of the rotors damage, caliper damage and pads....you never even knbow it's cutting on and applying brake pressure while traveling...but it cuts on and off for a second or two continulously and you never realize it until it's too late.

Is this personal experience. Was the gain too high? I had the boost set to 1 and the gain was about 3.0. Damage to pads calipers and actuator? How and what kind? Turning it on and off? That sounds like a possible break away switch circuit problem. Was it properly synced?

I now have th tow command in my new truck and use it. I like it and it works well with the actibrake.

I sent email to active technology and got the following:

Scott,
I have attached a copy of our latest approved brake controller list for your review. The Prodigy brake controller IS on the list and it should work just fine for you. The Prodigy brake controller is "designed" for use with electric brakes BUT it is such a popular brake controller, we had to design our system to work with it.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Thank you for choosing Tekonsha for your towing needs.
The Prodigy was designed fro use with electric braking systems only. The only controller we have that is recommended for the electric over hydraulic brakes is the new P-3.

I have a 2007 27FB classic with the Prodigy installed when we bought it so I am real interested in this thread even though I haven't had any problems.

Thanks. I'd forgotten about that video clip. I've still got the CD that came with the Prodigy. Sounds like a simple "sync" each hook-up will satisfy the situation. I've always done that anyway. I know Michelle has, as she mentioned it months ago. She's had no problems, nor have I.
Are we in agreement? Keep the Prodigy and keep on 'syncing'?

OK, I have a 2006 Safari 25' FB SE.... I just installed the Prodigy Sunday!!!! Now I ask... uh do the Classics have electric-hydraulic and the Safari's just have electric or do I need to get another brake controller and start over?

The burn from the soldering iron is just starting to heal....

the 2006 Safari's have electric brakes. I pulled one with the prodigy for a year...no problems. I am pulling an 07 Classic with the same Prodigy, synced each hook-up and have had no problems. Looking at the 'evidence' above, the Prodigy will work with either, although it was designed for electrics only, (your trailer), but will work with elec/hydraulic if synced properly at hookup (per active tech).

Prodigy will work fine with both. You will need to to sync with the Classic. Set the boost to what ever is correct by the instructions. Then manually active the prodigy fully and run the gain all the way up and down. THis tell the Actibrake the maximum signal to expect. Otherwise it will put full brakes on all the time. I had this problem after the factory disconnected batteries for welding on my frame.

Soldering iron? did you solder you connections? Why not use something safer like a crimper and but conectors?
