Need an electric/hydraulic disc brake actuator.
Does anyone know of a source for an electric over hydraulic disc brake actuator? Seems that all that I can find online are "out of stock". The Dexter model possibly available end of October.
Kind of need one in 3 weeks. Seems that the Actibrake that Andy sold me in 2007 doesn't want to work now. Only 15 years.

Etrailer is where we’d start our search. We’ve had great service from them.

Hi
You are looking for a pretty obscure item. Most likely way to get one quick is to call roughly a billion dealers and see if they have one on the shelf ....

Might be worth a call https://www.redneck-trailer.com/prod...ices/products/ from their website "Dexter has rebranded our Rockwell American and Redneck Trailer Supplies distribution branches to Dexter."

Tekonsha P3
If you’re looking for an external brake controller to plug into your F150 prewire (my tundra is prewired… I figure your F150 may be, too), the Tekonsha P3 is a widely used product, has elect over hydraulic support and is avail immediately from Amazon Prime.
I’m using the integrated controller in my current Tundra for electric only brakes, but used a P3 on my old Tundra and liked it better than the integrated unit I now have.

OP is looking for an actuator, not a controller.

Call Tustin, they make outstanding break controllers: DirectLink brake controllers.
I believe the make their own elec/hyd pump.

The actuator is the thing on the trailer that your fancy controller tells to actuate and stomp on the hydraulic brake pedal and skid the tires. I've tested my controller on my Dodge diesel and it doesn't seem to be lack of signal issue, the Actibrake is sleeping and don't want to wake up. Pulling the old, and new brake away switch isn't doing it either.

Thanks, send it again please. I didn't find your email.
I'm finding a lot of surge actuators, but no electric over hydraulic disc brake actuators.

NevadaGeo,
How about going for a back to basics test on the Actibrake. Find the wiring and apply a temporary 12VDC jumper to it and see if it comes to life. Or try pulling the breakaway switch plug for a test.
Wiring diagram for the HBA series, but best to check your files for doc.

Try Carlisle Brake and Friction and see if they still sell a 1600psi electric hydraulic actuator. Andy installed this in my trailer in 2011. Actibrake was recalled.

OOPS my bad.
I DID have an Actibrake, it failed years ago and I replaced it with a Carlisle HBA-1600 actuator.
Should have caught my own early AM wrong word typo. The wiring diagram I posted is from my HBA-1600.

My Carlisle HBA 1600 has been trouble free. Hopefully Carlisle still makes the actuator.

I did, and put on a new brake away switch, pulled it and it didn’t run the Actibrake. That’s when I decided I better look for a new actuator. I was confused why there was voltage on the thing until I read the instructions, again. The Actibrake has voltage on it all the time. The signal from the controller or breakaway switch tells the Actibrake to push on the hydraulic. Something blew the fuse at the Actibrake. I’ll try hot wiring it directly to a battery.
Carlisle doesn’t list a hydraulic brake actuator. .
Thanks

The reason you can't find one is a little more than a supply chain problem. I don't know the exact details, but the hydraulic brake actuator vendors can no longer buy the pumps they use in their products. Not only that but the pump they did temporarily have access to did not meet the specs of the pump it apparently replaced. I don't know if, or when, this situation will change. In effect a single source supplier problem whom "I think" seems unwilling or unable to provide functional hydraulic pumps. If the failure is NOT the pump itself, perhaps the "other parts" may be available but don't know of anyone who will cost effectively repair them. You might want to contact the respective manufacturer to see if they are willing to "repair" your failed unit.
