98 Excella 31 ft, Lost brakes last evening while traveling, Controller showed short in idle mode, and overload when brakes applied. Dropped at RV repair last evening, repair people unfamiliar with problem. Replaced plug
which I felt was a waste. Has anyone experienced this problem and if so
where was the short, in wiring or wheel?
My brand-new 2004 safari 28W had an intermittent short that became a quasi-permanent short. A wire had come loose inside one of the wheels and was hitting ground most of the time.
Had it into the mothership twice -- they found it the second time. The second time the technician and I drove my truck with two brake controllers installed as that is what they blamed the first time. They then towed it with their F250 and it also showed the short, exonerating my truck and all the wiring and electronics. He found it right away the second time.
Thanks for reply, repair place found problem, magnet in left rear brake fried. Springs broke, in process of replacing brake parts and shoes in
left side, right side in good condition. I have a lot of miles on thid unit
so guess its about time to experience problems.
