Lightbulb Hensley Brake Controller $427 New

I just received a mailer from Hensley Mfg. They have come out with a new brake controller to compliment their hitch and mirrors. It is called the TruControl.

Apparently the TruControl is somehow connected to the brake pedal, automacically compensates for electric brake fade, automatically detects electric or hycraulic trailer brakes, detects and displays trailer brake system problems, works with the tow vehicle brake pressure to determine trailer braking, and eliminates gain adjustments for loaded and unloaded trailers.

Because I have a Hensley Hitch, I am able to purchse this new brake controller for only $397.

Unfortunately, I am very pleased with my Jordan Brake Controller. I don't think I will be taking them up on their offer. But it does sound interesting. Anyone out there have one of these new brake controllers?

If this is the Master Brake unit that Hensley was looking at earlier this year, it is a fantastic unit. Uses brake line pressure to control the amount of power sent to trailer brakes, plus interfaces with the manufacturer's hydraulic disc brake unit. Senses the number of axles automatically. Like the Hensley hitch, expensive, but works exceptionally well.

It's the Master Brake controller... a hydraulic pressure sensor in the brake line... the closest you can get to one of the old hydraulic piston brake controllers. If I didn't have the Jordan, I might've opted for one of these. The guys at the Ford diesel site who have them, speak highly of them. The Jordan works so well at making sure the trailer braking is leading the truck braking, I think I'll stick with it.
