HD 1206 Brake Drum - Dexter?

I have a call into Dexter, but I thought I would try on here too. My brake drum is marked HD 1206. Is that a Dexter #? It has an "R" inside an oval on the drum too. Perhaps on Al Ko (their website isn't too good). I am thinking about switching to self adjusters at some point and I am trying to zero in on the parts.

When I install new backing plates, is it a good idea to install new drums/hubs? Mine do have some magnet scoring. Note, I also posted on here today about magnet/bearing wear.

Thanks,

As I posted on the other thread. It is possible to turn the magnet face of the drum by a "good" brake lathe tech. Just depends on their machine and the tech's skill. They will need to wrap the heck out of the drum with the rubber dampener belts, but it is worth a try if the scoring isn't too deep....like more than .030" or so.

You might try contacting etrailer.com. They are the cheapest source I've found for genuine Dexter parts. I'm not familiar with the particular part number on your drum but the folks at e-trailer can talk through the identification.

Well it's been about a year and I am finally getting things together to replace my brakes. In reference to my OP: I called Airstream (duh) and they were very helpful. They gave me the correct Dexter part number for my trailer which is 008-201-05. I even found a place about an hour away up near Lancaster, PA that has them at a good price.
