Angry Dexter Axles Disk Brakes

Im looking for the brake pads for my 2009 25FB Classic Limited. It has Dexter Nev-R-lube and in the Airstream Parts manual it only list the following axles 3800, 5000, 4400. For my 25FB it lists the 3800 Airstream Part# 410875. My question is the trailer is rated at 8000 GW. If airstream has installed only 3800 lb axles then the trailer is over the weight limit of the axles. 3800 x 2 = 7600 lb about 400 lbs light. I go to Dexter Webpage and find they list 3500 lb, SO question what axles do I have? Where can I find just brake pads?

The axles do not carry the entire trailer gross weight. Some of the weight is carried by the tongue. Almost always the gross weight rating is higher than the combined ratings of the axles. So my guess is that you have the 3800 axles as listed.

My trailer is 6800 lbs Gross wt with 3200 lb axles. My actual weights traveling are 800 lbs on the tongue and 5700 lbs on the axles.

There should be a weight placard on the trailer listing the axle ratings. I would expect E-trailer to have the pads.

Bob & Julie,

Take a look at this part https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories...e/K71-629.html or Dexter https://www.dexteraxle.com/product/2...eplacement-kit does that match the shape of your brake pad? This is used with the 4 piston caliper.

But if your pads don't match the above look at this set https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories...71-623-00.html see how the pads are different inboard vs outboard.

I have a used spare set of the K71-629 and can measure width of the pad if you need it.

Any background info on the brake issue or just normal wear?

Gary
