Andy,

Thanks for posting. I checked mine and it's 513XXX. Looks like I dodged this recall.

For those of you that need to remove your actuator, you might want to cap the end of the line to prevent leaks and exposing the fluid in the line to atmosphere. I found this combination will correctly cap a 3/16" steel brake line, a 3/16" coupler and a 3/16" plug, please note: the 3/16" is the size of the brake line and the nut size is 3/8".

Good luck to all.

I'm in the clear too as mine was manufactured in 2010. Andy, did Carlisle say to you exactly what is defective?

desertair27,

Maybe I confused this on your other thread this http://www.airforums.com/forums/f439...ics-67620.html I believe covers ActiBrake units sold with an AS trailer, possibly not installed as a customer replacement. But you should read the PDF bulletin attached in the thread and I think a good do it yourself type could do the same if you chose to, just be very carefull where you drill for the inspection hole to look for fluid, don't make this mistake drilling http://www.airforums.com/forums/f439...iew-85382.html

After my 3 year old Actibrake crapped out after about 2500 miles use I had the Carlisle installed. Luckily my Serial # is outside the recall but I doubt I'll use this set up on the next trailer. I hate to say it but drums seem to work just fine and are easier to troubleshoot.
