Breakaway switch replacement

I want to upgrade my 29 year old breakaway, what brands are good, or are they all the same?

Suggestions

Lipets,

They are all essentially the same. Sort of like engine oil......pick one you like for what ever reason. I would stay with the major brands like Reese or Takonsha.

It's hard to go wrong with Bargman. They've been in business for decades. This is available at our fleet stores and most RV dealers. Installation is very simple. This is one I put on my Argosy -- and the same switch is OEM on my Safari.

The frame received POR-15 treatment. Then I caulked the hole with Sikaflex 221 before I drove a SS screw to mount the Bargman.

My breakaway switch was missing, does the yellow wire hook to it? How does it hook up?

I seem to be replacing my break away (Tekonsha) every couple of years. I pull the pin just to make sure it will come out, and either the contacts are all corroded or the plastic mounts that hold the spring loaded contacts break off as if they became brittle from heat/sunlight. I'm considering changing to the chrome barrel style that was standard equipment on vintage models and uses a brass pin.
