I called on mine today. It is part of the recall. I really think I'm going to change mine out with braided lines with a bleeder for the inboard caliper half....so I am not sure how to refuse the recall and get it off the "books".
BTW, they WON'T send out parts for a recall (understandably) so don't even ask....I did, just for the heck of it. ONLY dealer repairs.

Thanks Andy. It is better to hear about a recall in the forms than find out the hard way, with a failure.
This would make a great thread so we could keep up with any recalls, etc. that effect Airstreams.

You can sign up with the government NHTSA to receive any and all recalls via email for any specific company, including Airstream. Here is the notice I got a couple days ago about this recall. They provided the link to get you the details of the recall.
Please click on the following NHTSA Campaign ID links to view the recall information.
NHTSA Campaign ID Number : 12V532 Recall Results | Safercar.gov | NHTSA
Manufacturer : AIRSTREAM, INC.
Make / Model Years : AIRSTREAM / 2006-2009
Subject : The Hydraulic Brake Hose may Fail due to Flexing

Our 2006 is on the 'recall' list. We are in Tucson for several months volunteering. Any suggestions on where to take our trailer to have this fixed?

I had the same problem with the Ford recall a few years back. I finally gave up and had the dealer do the work to get the recall cleared. They are pretty serious about safety issues, even if you fix the problem yourself. They won't quit badgering you until a dealer does the fix.

Oasis RV, long time dealer in Tucson.
Tucson, AZ Used RV Sales: Travel Trailers, Fifth Wheels, Airstream & Toy Haulers.
Also know that many times a recall is announced because an issue is discovered and there is limited avilability of repair parts. Call the nearest dealership and find out availability.
I worked for Ford Parts and Service division during the time of the Pinto fuel tank recall. There was lots of pressure to get every vehicle identified and handled becuase this was a high visability concern. Even cars in wrecking yards were repaired. Let the dealer do their job and then if you want to modify your vehicle after that feel free to do so. It is your vehicle and you are responsible for it.

Nice of them to finally get around to this.
I already spent considerable time and money repairing it.

I may be one of the AS owners that precipitated this recall. Do a search on the NHTSA site for ODI ID number10327321, which is my report to NHTSA on this brake system problem. The following link may also take you there http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complaints/results.cfm.

My 91 Classic 34' had the disc brake conversion installed at the factory a few years ago. I wonder if these conversions are in this recall? I have Dexter axles Kodiak hubs and discs and the Carlisle actuator. Wouldn't hose routing be just like the production units? I was just at the factory... trust work there over a dealer.
Andy what do you think?

Do I have any recourse on getting reimbursed for repairs already done?
I actually had a conversation with Parrott when this happened, almost two years ago. It was obviously a design flaw. I wanted to know what they were going to do to fix it, and he basically told me to pound sand.

Recall FYI
Just thought I'd follow up with some info I received from Airstream this morning....
Airstream units retrofitted at the factory are NOT involved in this recall, as the hoses are not sourced from Dexter but another company, therefore not failing.
I had posted last week, my concern about my unit having been retrofitted with discs at the factory. It would seem to me that all the parts both production and retro, woould be the same.
Glad to know for sure!
Hope this helps those with after the fact systems...

Airstreamers,
If you get the recall repair, could you please try to get a picture of the new hose before installation and try to get a pic after installation and post please? I'm curious about their solution, hose configuration and routing. I already took care of mine.
Thanks,
Gary

ALL recalls (safety in particular) that GM issues offer reimbursement and instructions on how to document and obtain reimbursement. Ask your local dealer for a copy of their recall bulletin. Not sure about RVs, but with autos it is REQUIRED that they be made available to the public upon request.

Brake Re-call
Our '09 Classic was included in the brake recall. The problem from our standpoint was that there is no longer an Airstream trailer dealer in the state of GA. I contacted Airstream directly and discussed this with them. After interviewing (by phone) a local dealer that I recommended who handles SOB and does have a good reputation, they agreed to send the replacement parts directly to him and worked out something regarding the labor charges.
I thought that was very accommodating of Airstream to do this and it certainly did save me a lot of driving and expense to accomplish this task.
