Brake question

I've installed new brake magnets and try as I might I can not get the wire grommet to go back in the drum . Is there some trick to installing this thing or could the wire jacket on the new part be a little thicker and the grommet is just not going to fit? It didn't looked damaged when I removed it. If all else fails can I just use a regular rubber grommet and a dab of silicone where the wire goes through the drum.

If you are talking of the hayco connector try inserting it from the back side of the backer plate and squeezing it with a pare of channel lock pliers as you push it into the hole. I say channel locks because the jaws can be opened so the jaws are just slightly bigger than then the hayco connector and thus the pliers close the hayco rather than slip off the connector.

This also works for removal squeeze and pull out when removing.
