If your TV has 4 wheel disc brakes, be sure to periodically check the working/non-working status of your parking brake which in most cases is a drum brake on the rear axle.
Fortunately, I didn't have a run-away vehicle because the brake wasn't holding. In fact, I had just the opposite. I had a dragging parking brake which turned out to be caused because the cable operating the mechanisms on the rear axels had rusted and locked.
In Virginia, vehicles have an annual safety inspection for brakes, lights etc. The mechanic who takes care of our vehicles missed this problem and I managed to drive over
1500 miles with this sticking issue. Finally, the problem became bad enough that the truck vibrated pretty violently as the brake grabbed and released.
SSSSsooooooooooooooo, do more checking than just the disc pads.
