My TST does the same thing.
The way the sensors save battery is they only report a change, or update every 5 minutes. If there is no change, no new report. However, as you discovered, as soon as there's a change detected, it sends a signal immediately.
I learned this when I drove away and still had readings five miles away. What I saw was the last report.

Hi Jeff, not sure if you're still monitoring this thread. I'm trying to do what you did with my 2022 Caravel. Is it safe to assume the green wire is the running light on all newer airstreams? Also - how did you connect it to the junction box? I don't see the red wire from the repeater in your pic. Apologies if these are basic questions. I'm thinking about just doing an in-line splice on the green wire.

This may have already been addressed, but we wired our EezTire repeater to one of the overhead reading lamps (hot wire) in the bedroom and secured the it to the underside of the cabinet. From there, it has a clear shot to the TV. It's worked flawlessly for over 5 years now. Battery drain is negligible, thus a switched/unswitched circuit was of no concern.

What is embossed on my tires is, "For Maximum Load Inflate to 80 psi."
I'm not anywhere near maximum load, so I don't inflate to 80 psi.
I don't presume to tell others what to do, but you'll find a lot of folks using 60-65 psi. The last time I used 60, none of the hangers in the closet jumped off the rod. That was a message to me.

SLOScoot, yep I’m still here! Yes, the green wire comes off the industry standard for the 7-pin trailer wiring.

I fished a single (also green) 14ga. wire from the battery box through the loom that goes under the trailer and into the DC wiring area, under the curb side bed on our 27’ GT FBT along side the rubber coated 7 pin cable. I cut the green 7 pin wire and used a WAGO connector to join the two ends and the new green wire.

Inside the battery box I connected the red repeater wire to the new green wire. The ground goes to the battery.

Hope that helps!
Jeff

I plug mine into the 12 volt outlet when we travel. The sending unit is taped to the front window oof the trailer. I have forgotten (several times) to plug it in for the travel day and the system worked without any problems. Honestly, I am not sure a repeater is needed in most cases. My previous system (Tire Pressure Pro) did require a repeater.

I ended up installing ours in the window as well, but we wired it into the bus bars of our electrical box. That way when using the battery disconnect, it would turn off too. We didn’t have any 12-volt ports in our trailer. We had to have a couple installed.

I have the TST and considering wiring the repeater in one of two places: 1) attaching an SAE connector and using the Zamp solar port. Use the port for the repeater while towing, then unplug while camping and can use the port for external solar, or 2) wire the repeater into the 12V wiring for the overhead light in the camper shell on my truck and mount the repeater just inside. Has anyone done either of these?

I did (1). I mounted the repeater inside the propane tank cover on the plastic lid using industrial Velcro. I called TST and they said the orientation didn't matter. Dropped the wire out the bottom of the tank, attached a SAE plug (wired backwards) and plug into the Zamp. Unplug when not in use. Easy/Peasy.
(I think you could put it in your glove compartment unwired and it would do as well. How does anyone know the repeater works? I can't tell)

Thanks for your report. I am considering doing the same thing - it seems almost too easy. I have a Zamp portable solar panel and use the stock Airstream Zamp port on the battery case.

Not being an electrician, I have a question before I proceed. Does the Zamp SAE plug provide the proper current to the repeater? I assume that is the case, but want to be sure.

Wish I had seen this thread before posting my install - would have done so here. Rookie mistake. Anyway, here's how I wired my Lippert TireLinc repeater: https://www.airforums.com/forums/f43...ll-241761.html

I was having problems with my TST dropping readings without the repeater. (Flying Cloud FB20 and Tacoma TV at the time) One tire might show, but intermittent crickets on the other. The problem wheel also varied. New batteries in the wheel sensors didn't help.

My lithium battery is relocated under the front bed and I didn't want to drill new holes in the floor to run wiring to the fuse block I put next to the battery.

When I called TST with some questions about where to place the repeater, the tech said to just wire the repeater to the TV battery and put the antenna under the hood of the truck. And yes, I double checked to make sure that's what he said. Seems counterintuitive but it worked.

I installed the TST-770 TPMS kit today and look forward to actually road testing it this week. The stationary test while parked in my driveway worked like a charm.

I attached the Repeater directly to my batteries and installed a toggle switch on the side of the battery box. I ran the line to the repeater under the lpg tanks and used zip ties to fasten it to my jack post. I hope the photos come through ok.

Electrical is not my area, so I’m pretty clueless here.
I spliced it to the power line from the 7pin and put it under the LPG cover.

NO problems with transmitting thru the plastic lid and it's fused so it's easy to pull the fuse when not towing.

I placed mine inside under the bed of my FC FB 27. Easily fished the lead’s through the space between the bed storage and back storage compartment. Could just put it in the back but I had batteries in the way. Negative to ground bar after the shunt. Positive to the 12 v cutoff relay device so it turns off when I engage the cutoff switch. Always on when I tow. This works flawlessly.

Getting ready to hook up a new TST Booster to my Classic battery box. Are you plugged into the Zamp solar connector near the battery box? If so do you mean reversing the red and back wires on the ZAE connector to plug it in?

Placing the repeater antenna inside a metal box is never a good idea because metal is a Faraday shield to RF. I had mounted mine on top of the propane cover. Mounting it inside the propane cover might work because the monitor receiver will most likely see a stronger signal directly from the source instead of the repeater. which would take the receiver much longer to sync up and could be erratic while driving.

I left the Zamp connector the same because it had red and black leads and a fuse on the + side. So I took the lead from the repeater and a short SAE2 plug, and reversed it there. Solder and heat shrink.
BTW, I arrived home after driving 400 miles and discovered I had forgotten to plug in the repeater. I couldn't tell. It worked fine.
