Tucson
I have read all or most of the tire discussions circulating on the forum. Some great information...thank you! I would like to put the Michelin LTX M/S2 P235/75R15/XL 108T tires on my 19 ft Bambi International.
Already had 1 major blowout with less than 2000 mi on the tires near Page AZ.
That was about $1000+ in body damage to the wheel well. No fun!
My specific question is: Does anyone know of a dealer in Tucson that will install these with trailer or do i need to pull them off? I see in the threads that Discount Tire has done it for some streamers but not sure if it depends on the individual store.
Thanks!

Hey Bobgabnoosh....I am not sure they handle Michelins, but I know that Big-O Tires can install on trailers. I'd check around with tire dealers who handle Michelins and ask them. Make sure you supervise them jacking up your trailer, though.
The other thing you could do is buy the tires yourself and take them and the trailer to Oasis RV on Benson highway and have them install them for you. (They used to be an Aristream dealer and authorized repair center, but are no longer... but they are perfectly capable of dealing with your Airstream needs as long as it's not a warranty item.
(We had a Marathon blowout on our Bambi last summer, too... north of Globe ... no fun! We had $3500 in repairs that Oasis did beautifully.)
Good luck!

I've got mine at Discount Tire. You need to find one with lots of space then there's no problem.

I bought mine off Tirerack.com and took to Discount tire for mount and balance. They told me they would have price matched the Michelins. I am not sure if that is a national policy or local, But go in armed with the internet pricing + shipping and see if they will match.

Thanks TBRich! Sure keep me posted on activities. Mind if I ask what type of tires you are using now?

I'd go to Discount Tire any day.
I thought Big O would do trailers too, but then I found out the truth the hard way.
This is a good opportunity to learn the simple process of removing and re-installing a wheel yourself. All Airstream owners (especially a single-axle trailer owner) should know how and carry the tools needed, including a torque wrench.
You'll love the Michelins. After seven years of experimenting with various brands of "ST" tires (Goodyear, Carlisle, Green Ball, Tow Max, etc), I won't use anything but the Michelins.

We got these 16-inch wheels and Michelin tires at Discount Tire (see photos and details on wheels near end of this long post). And, YES, they will price match both wheels and tires; so get the best price off the Internet before you go to see them.

Thanks! I did learn the hard way after a blowout. With the rim on the road there was about 4 inches of clearance. I now carry a low profile jack, breaker bar & torque wrench. I can change a wheel but I can't mount a tire!
