TPMS with no box

I want a TPMS - but don't want a monitor that sits on the dash. All the ones discussed here have a box that I then have to find room for on my dash I want a bluetooth app for my phone that will throw an alert. Preferably one that does not need a repeater.

Any recommendations?

Repeating from above, this one meets your requirements. It's $80 for the four sensors with no repeater. I've gone a good 50' from the trailer and it still gets a good signal. It has solar charging but it lasts a long time on a single USB-C charge. It's only a few inches long and fits most anywhere. (I don't get any endorsement fees - yet, ha ha).

Sounds like "Tireminder".
https://www.campingworld.com/tiremin...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

To be contrary, I did want a monitor. I use the phone for directions, etc and didn't want to lose the tire monitor function.
I didn't want something on the dash, so I used a cupholder mount.

Apologies, got my threads mixed up (no above). Not sure if this is what you're looking for or not.

I purchased the TireMinder for smart phones. It uses an app to monitor and alert. I’ve done 3 trips with it so far and have been satisfied.

We got Tireminder and added a cheap but heavy magnetic phone holder "thing" that lets it stay securely on the outside of the glove box, out of the way but really visible when driving.

What with the backup camera, CB radio, and big screen for GPS we were running out of space. The best part is it snaps off quickly and can be put away when we aren't using it.

What year and make is your TV? I've had good luck with both the Ford and GM factory systems that have displays integrated into the instrument cluster or center stack screen. The GM system is particularly nice as it supplies both pressure and temperature information and requires no umbilical between TV and TT.

I know the Ford is available as a kit because I installed one in my 2017 F250. My Sierra 2500HD came with the trailer TPMS capability pre-installed, but I would guess that a kit could also be had. FWIW, both Ford and GM installations require that sensors be mounted in the trailer tires.

Neither of these are the cheapest solutions but they have worked well for me and having the tire info available right in the instrument displays without add on monitors or potential connection issues is nice.

I can appreciate the desire to not have another box / display. The factory integration of trailer TPMS in the tow vehicle is the ultimate.

Our 2019 truck didn’t support it and I felt the TPMS is such an important function I went with a dedicated system and display. I didn’t want to worry about an issue with the app and my phone. And the new TST with the touch screen display is a big improvement. I can glance at the tire pressures and temps anytime.

I have that same “NEW” Truck Systems Technologies (TST) monitor and it has magnetic back but thin enough that you could lay flat in a cubby hole or in console and can pick it up like a phone and look at any time! TST is very reliable and this “NEW” screen is also a touch screen and also gives heading and GPS coordinates. I use a TST repeater and never had a tire pressure or temp “drop out” while I am driving. My 2024 GM Trailer Tire Pressure Monitor System drops out ALL THE TIME on a 27 FBQ with a Hensley. I Highly recommend TST

Interesting. My 2024 GM trailer TPMS has been 100% reliable; no dropouts at all. The sensors are supposed to be good to a range of 23' but even though your trailer is a couple of feet longer than mine your wheels should be well within the parameters. No doubt you've re-performed the sensor learning process. Unfortunate that it isn't working for you.

So I am also about 12” farther back than a “standard” ball hitch with the Hensley. I took my AIRSTREAM and 2024 AT4 HD fully hooked up to the GM dealer to see what they said…they measured 21.5’ to the back of the tire from the license plate…still within the 23’ advertised but then it turned to all metal hitch, all metal AIRSTREAM and interference from both those things…while I get all that then why would GM put the receiver right behind the aluminum license plate! Talk about interference! If GM would just make a repeater for their “Custom” 433 MHZ signal it would just fix the problem. $90,000 truck with 23’ of standard range…Guess that’s another discussion on another forum!

I would love the trailer TPMS to show on my screen. My TV is a 2023 Lincoln Navigator Black Label (so a really comfortable Ford Expedition). I was under the impression that the kit you speak of was a Superduty only option, so not available on the Navigator (or Expedition) - I would be ecstatic to be wrong. Unfortunately my local dealer is less than useless and getting any info from them that is not in the brochure is nigh impossible.

Yeah, I was wondering what your TV was since it's not shown in your signature. I should have dug deeper and checked your profile because you do list the Navigator there. Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, the Ford trailer TPMS kit is only available for the Super Duty. I don't know why they haven't made a version available for the Navigator/Expedition, or the F150 for that matter. Seems like they're missing an opportunity.

I think the opportunity they care about is to sell more super dutys.

Although for the price of the Lincoln, I would think they should be happy to sell more of those too.

Pressure Pro

The Pressure Pro may be what you are looking for. You check actual pressure readings with an app on your smart phone. The small box mounted next to the mirror in our 2020 F250 shows lights and emits sound when tire temperature or pressure gets outside the parameters that you set.

The downside is that I needed a professional to wire it all up, even though I am normally capable of such. My problem was running and attaching wiring so as to be concealed by the trim work in the truck.

I have aTireminder system and my display is small. Only the size of a credit card and it sits on my dash. No blocking the view.

Master Blaster I installed my trailer sensors on my 30’ Excella in January and have approximately 4k miles on them now. I haven’t had a problem with my 2024 Silverado 2500 TPMS system dropping out. You might need someone who worked outside the fire box to look at that thing for you.

Nice….haven’t heard the “Blaster” for a while now! Anyway took it to GM with the AIRSTREAM hooked up and they couldn’t figure it out…I am thinking the Hensley hitch isn’t helping with the additional 12-16” farther back from the receiver the AIRSTREAM axles sit now. I still use the GM TTPMS in the cab but the TST never drops and always is showing PSI/TEMPS.

I can look to see if there is a retired twidget who can help me! haha

We've been using the Tireminder Smart TPMS for the same reason. It works with CarPlay so the display is integrated with the TV display. We can change from maps to TPMS to check psi/temperature and the alerts pop up on audio.

That is what I went with. Have not installed it yet.
