IMO, it only makes sense if you go to the Michelin LT tires which are discontinued in 15".
However, a 16" tire turns fewer revolutions per mile so wear is reduced.

While the 15” LTX isn’t quite the same tire as a 16” true LT tire, they fit the bill for me on our ‘05 Safari 30’. Haven’t had the chance to rack up many miles on them yet, I’m happy so far!

Tire monitor

I installed the TST 507 a year ago and it works great. I have a 28’ and no extender is required.
I purchased the flo through model so if air is needed i didn’t have to remove the sensor.

I have that setup too. Just got it, will install it soon. Did you have your valve stems replaced with all metal ones or are the original valve stems holding up ok?
The original valve stems on my 2018 FC seem to have a lot more metal to them than the old all rubber valve stems on my pre-TPMS truck, but are still rubber at the wheel end. I do worry about the weight of the sensors eventually cracking the valve stem....

Okay. My understanding they have been discontinued, and so when the stock in the warehouse dries up, there won't be more.

I did replace them but didn’t need to. The ones that were installed at the tire store were just like the originals from AS. . They are high pressure valve stems. They are brass with rubber at the rim. They work fine.
If you decide to get steel valve stems, make sure you get the ones the have the nut on the inside of the wheel. The valve stems with the nut on the outside won’t fit.

Thanks! I mounted my four sensors for the first time yesterday. Haven't towed the trailer yet with them attached, but in the driveway the monitor picked up all four tire's pressures and temps after a few minutes. The TV was parked a few feet in front of the hitch, and I had not installed the "repeater" that amplifies the signal, but it seemed to work regardless.

What was a bit disconcerting is when we drove the truck to run an errant the monitor continued to display the tire pressures, even with the trailer eight miles away at home. Makes me want to unscrew one of the sensors to simulate a blowout and see what the monitor does.

The monitor did go back to no-reading when I interrupted the power supply to it....

I purchased the TPMS TM-507RV/SG as well for my 2018 27FB International. Great stuff.....I live in Fort Worth, and we purchased from Colonial in NJ last November. So....they filled the tires to 80 psi (16" Mich LTX upgrade - including the spare). I purchased a TPMS booster as well, watched a great video on YouTube, and built a power box with an on/switch and battery QDC. Mounted it inside the propane storage cover out of elements and easy access to batteries. Since I got the (6) fill-through sensors, I have installed one on the spare tire as well......good to know what condition it is in!! Getting back to NJ and 80 psi.....as we drove south and tires warmed up, I saw the temp and psi rise....which allowed me to easily bleed some pressure off. The system is very good in my opinion, as I was able to see the temp and pressure difference between the two sides due to the sun beaming on 2 of the 4 tires. Long story short.....winner, winner, chicken dinner in my opinion. Between the TPMS display, rear view camera, dash gps, and iPhone all mounted on the dash.....it was like a NASA control center, but very handy being able to monitor EVERYTHING.....since we are newbies. If you do install a booster just make sure you turn it off when you get set up at the campsite. In storage, I remove the (20 AMD batteries, so moot point there.

TireTraker

I have a TireTraker pressure monitor.

It uses external, screw-on-the-valve-stem tire talkies.

Used this on a 16-foot and a 19-foot Airstream (both single axle), and have not needed a booster.

Has worked with both rubber valve stems and metal valve stems.

The talkies weigh little. I don't think they are stressing the valve stems ... I wouldn't go to the trouble — a lot of trouble — to swap to metal stems without good reason.

Great idea.
Where did you program the spare on the monitor? Just an unused tire?

Yep. Just assign it to wherever you wish. My tpms will allow for up to 18? I think.....so I assigned it to one on the would be tow vehicle.

Bleed off pressure when hot? What was cold pressure the next morning?

Pressure was right around 70 psi, then heated up to about 78-80 once on the road...running 65 mph. When we left NJ it was cold to say the least, spent first night on the lot, second night close by at Gettysburg, then Luray Virginia KOA. Temps there were in the teens at night..........so as to be clear, It was about the 5th day that I got into warmer weather.....70's. We spent 12 days driving from Colonial to our home in FTW, TX. We took a trip to Palo Duro Canyon Tx the week before Christmas......got into the 60's, but was in the 20's when we left and drove home. Pressure and and temps were good. I check pressures before we set sail, lug torque (125-130), etc. All was well with TT. Heck, I had more issues with my TV tires......they were supposed to have Nitrogen in the tires (brand new truck), but they fluctuated too much, so I think they had a mix. I just had truck serviced and purged tires with fresh Nitrogen......shall see in March. Headed to Grand Canyon and surrounding areas......

If you mean the P typeLTX did you de-rate the load capacity for trailer applicatrion?

And there you have it. I was furious when my father fell for it. He is a scientifically intelligent man, but is 98 year's old. He was victimized.
