Tires for 1964 Airstream Safari 22

1964 Airstream Safari 22
Looking to replace my tires. Currently one is a 225/75 x R15 and the other is 205/R15.
The spare is 205/75 x R15.
What would you recommend as the correct tire size to use?
Looking to use the Goodyear Endurance brand but am open to other suggestions
Thanks
Steve

I personally use the STA brand STA Super Transport LT "Bias-Ply" tires on all my vintage trailers (56,66,70) in the size 7.00x15LT, Model LA225

https://www.stausaonline.com/tires/sta-super-transport/

They make tires for Coker Tires, and are made in the USA.

Enjoy,

I've towed from Florida to Nova Scota, OBX, NC to Springfield, MO.

If you plan to go the 7.00x15 bias-ply route, I highly suggest taking "two" spare tires with you, since that tire size is not always stocked at the local tire shop.

Many folks run the standard 225/75r15 radial tire, here as well. It really comes down to what you want in a tire.

Enjoy,

I have a Bambi II that was just gifted to me. I have to move it. It had the original P205/75B14 I need a replacement, I tried to install the P205/75R14 and they are too wide for the wheelwell.

Steve,

I think it would depend on the wheel width, 7", 7 1/2", 8" etc. Ask your local tire specialist for the exact tire size for your wheels. IMO, Load range is important, especially with a single axle. More is better.

We have a 1964 Safari single axle and aluminum wheels. We run Goodyear Endurance ST 225/75 R15's load range E, the same for the spare. I run them at 78-80 PSI most of the time. I have been extremely happy with the GYE's.

On our Around the World Overlander we use a 205/90/15, which is vety close to 700/15. On Our 29ft Sq Stream, we put on the radial version 205/90R/15. Both tires provide a-higher profile to help with clearances under trailer than 225/75/15
