tire size?

I have a 1971 Ambassador. It has 2 axels. Years ago, I removed the tires and rims and have the frame sitting on blocks. I then had the tires removed from the rim. Ive cleaned up the rims and painted them with POR 15.

What size tires do I buy? I threw away the old tires and cant recall what size they were....sigh. My bad.

On the driver's side front corner there should be a placard with that information stamped into it.

7:00 x 15" was the original size, but it is difficult or impossible to find tires sized that way. These tires were narrower than today's radials, so be careful in your selection, so that the tires will not rub and so that they easily fit into the wheel well.
