Tire Presssure Monitors? Help.....
I bought my 1986 34 foot Airstream Liimited a few months ago getting ready to go on the road full time. Today I replaced all 6 tires with new Goodyear Marathons, and lo and behold inside 5 of the 6 tires attached to the rim were tire pressure monitors. The 6th tire was diffferent, so I assume the monitor was screwed up when a flat occurred or something like that.
Anyway, I didn't get any wireless receiver when I purchased the trailer (no big surprise) and am now wondering how to go about getting something that will work with these monitors. The name printed on the units inside the tire is Imperial Clevite, Elastomer Products division. Each has a different serial number which I guess is how they were set up so that whatever receiving unit was used, it could tell which tire was being monitored. I can't find anything on the net about this company, and none of the companies who make these devises seem to be connected to this company (if it still exists) in any way.
So I thought I'd ask you folks who have been around awhile (the Airstream experts) if you are familiar with these devises and how I should proceed to find out how to get the missing receiver, if possible.
Any ideas? thanks
Lee
