Teletector
I was in under my closet on my 1985 34' Limited repairing my water pump, and found a box with Teletector on it. Does anyone have any information on it. I see it in the Blue Beret classifieds but have no knowledge of the equipment, what it does. I apparently have it, but what other parts are needed, what does it do, and what does it connect too? Any help appreciated.

I don't know what Airstream used them for must have been Cold War jitters.
Take a look at: http://www.middle-earth.net/products/automess.html
Same name what do you think?

Rob,
It was a early warning system for trailer tires. It used a transmitter that was mounted INSIDE the tire on the wheel itself. IIRC using low power RF it sent the pressure values to a box. This box is where you set the pressures you wanted monitored. Then thru more RF or a cable there was a display mounted in the TV so you could monitor pressure from the drivers seat. I do not know what the drivers display showed, IE actual pressure or bad/good.

The Teletector has been discussed on this forum before at http://www.airforums.com/forum...ght=teletector The "Tele-tire" system was fitted to many Airstreams, and the wiring for this is shown in the manual for my trailer. There may well be some confusion because of the similarity in the names. Nick.

Who makes it
Does anyone know who makes it, and can you get parts still? It appears I have the system, but not the piece for the vehicle.
Thanks,
Rob
