SmarTire or Pressure pro?
Hi,
We have a 2005 Classic 30 and were thinking of getting tire monitoring systems, as we will be taking a long trip to Yellowstone/Grand Tetons in September.
We are thinking about the SmarTire, but have concerns about dismounting/remountin the tires, etc.
Does anyone have any experience with the two available products and which one do you recommend?
I have the smartire, a good friend has the pressure pro. The way he set his (knowing him I imagine this is the recommend way) he had to wait until his tires were 60 degrees, then set the pressure. A plus for the pressure pro is the ease of installation (just screw them on).
The smartire measures tire temperature as well as pressure and does temperature compensation.
I don't remember which one has better battery life, seems like with one of them you have to replace the sending unit when the battery dies, the other one can have the batteries replaced but they haven't published the cost.
