How old are my tires?

If the year of manufacture is listed as a single digit, how do I know if the year is in the '90s or (godforbid) the '80s on the port side tires?

DOT codes were not prevalant in the '80's. Also, in the new millenium, the code is now 4 digits, with the first two being week, the last two being year. A tire with a code of 1102 would have been made in the 11th week of 2002.
So, no code, 80's, 3 digit code, '90's, 4 digit 2000's.
