Goodyear Endurance - Sidewall Defects
I noticed that there is a wave in my sidewall of my Goodyear Endurance 15” It looks like a depression with a small bump at both ends of the depression. I put some tire shine on the tires and when the light hit the tire, this defect stood out.
Some are saying that it is normal and where the sidewall cords meet up and isn’t an issue. Others say that this is a defect and tire should be replaced right away.
What sort of thoughts and concerns are there in the forum?
I will try to grab a picture of it.

Thanks for the reassurances!
After looking at both tires, it appears that there are several of these depressions. No signs of bulges so that would mean that the plies are intact.
I wonder if the Michelins are doing the same thing for those have switched over to the 16’s?

This is all normal. Mine were like that from new. 4 years and ~15k miles later no problemo.
Endurance is a good, solid tire. I will be putting a second set on in the next year (proactive maintenance / tire age). (I did run 16" Michelin on previous trailer prior to the GYE being available on the market)

Seems like the consensus is that indents are okay and very common. Bulges on the other hand are potential blow outs and need to be inspected right away.

Tire recommendation
I am on my second set of Goodyear Marathons and have seen the depressions in both. I had a blowout with the first set at the start of a trip out West , tires were 7 years old. Could only find a Walmart with tires in stock - lesson leaned Walmart will mount your tires on the wheels but will not install on the trailer. They were nice enough to give me a jack and two jack stands - installed the tires in the parking lot. My second set are now 8 years old with not as many miles as first set. I see on a few Utube channels Trailer tire life is 5 years and Marathons are reffed to as MayPops. Understand they are manufactured in China. Have been looking at the Endurance for replacement. Understand quality is much better . Appreciate comments on the Endurance and other suggestions.

You do realize your past all recommendations for replacement due to age. For your safety please replace those sooner not later.

I would obviously agree seeing all the posts I have read in this forum over the past 6.5 years. Though, we had a friend who lived in Orlando who towed their Aliner from E. Orlando to Disney, probably 35 miles one way 8 or 9 times a year and never changed their tires during the 6 or 7 years they owned it! Maybe Mr Crabshack doesn’t travel much?

How far
Haven’t traveled much in past 16 months, just getting ready to start back. Focusing Summers crabbing Chesapeake Bay. Prior to COVID doing annual trip to Keys, a few visits per year to Nashville and SE States. Celebrating 15 years of Streaming, 42 States, 26 National Parks and a slew of National monuments checked off the bucket list. Would have replaced tires before Summer season of 2020 but knew we wouldn’t be traveling. Have called several Goodyear dealers and the Endurance is out of stock. The local Goodyear shop I use said that Goodyear pulled back production of the Endurance product in March to focus on higher margin products. Production is to return to normal in October and they are targeting January to receive inventory. Offered Carlisle as an alternate. Anyone with knowledge on Carlisle products? Thinking about making move to 16 LTs, called Airstream today to get the specs on wheels, was concerned about proper offset. Customer service was very helpful. I think the rep enjoyed pulling the blueprints on an older rig

Question to GCinSC2 on 16 LTs
I see you have the 16 LTs and Hi Spec Wheels. Do you mind sharing the wheel product number? I know the 2007 classic had a different wheel than the Safari, tech service told me the wheel offset on the Safari wheel is zero. Do you know the same to be for your wheel. Any suggestions on moving to the LT 16 is appreciated.

Crabshack,
I don't have the exact part number. Hi Spec doesn't have that on their site. http://www.hispecwheel.com/products/789/Series-S5
But from my Discount Tire invoice mine are S5 16X6.5 6X5.5 bolt pattern
On their site they have silver or black accent. They are zero offset.
