New tires and wheels are needed for my 1954 Safari. The original brochures and specs call for 7.00 x 15 tires, however, the tires (quite old) presently on the Safari are 7.00 x 16. What's particularly confusing is the fact that the trailer has, what appear to be, original split 16" rims.
15 inch ST tires and new rims are readily obtainable but I can't be sure they are right and might lower clearance height.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I use 700 x 15 tires on my Cloud and they are great. I use 225 x 75 x 15 on the Bubble..they are great. Get rid of any split rim rig....dangerous and almost impossible to find a shop that will chance working with them. If your really worried about ground clearance install the axle below the springs.
