Taking the Airstream to have tires brought up to pressure... is a PIA. The tow vehicle not so much, if you know where to go. 80PSI on the door. Cold psi...

Part of the problem with heavy Tow Vehicles are the tire pressures. Some tire facilities run a lot of air driven equipment. Their system may be 100psi or a bit more. When a lot of work is going on, you are lucky to get a tire to 80psi. Even 70 psi. (This is what I had explained to me. I provide Hot Air, but not PSI in tires.)

Thought... I would buy a large compressor and have it at home to top off PSI and check tires before leaving on a Camping Trip. Pros and Cons for those.

Found 'Compact Tire Inflator'. This one cost a bit more as it has a Lithium Battery. Comes with the battery and charger. Also some other attachments for other uses.

List price was $199.00 and with 'Friends & Family Event' discount, for what reason I was not arguing... price ended up at $169.15 with Sales Tax, no shipping costs. An Airstream Dealer was using this to inflate tires... I thought... yeah right.

Well, it did. If you want 70psi, set it at 72psi and take your Pressure Gauge and check. Got 69.5 to 70psi. Great.

It is rated to 120PSI. You figure that out. I am content it does the job I needed it for.

The Tire Pressure Gauge you use will be more accurate, I believe than the shutoff on this unit. As you get into higher PSI, the error subtracts 2 or 3 psi. I use my Pressure Gauge Accu-Brite by DuraPRO that Nancy bought at Costco for... herself. My Sears gauge was too awkward... so I... did a swap. I know. Bad, but I do things like this as I am a Neanderthal.

With the Lithium battery option it costs a bit more. But... you charge the Battery... and can use it on the road when needed. It is not that large... which surprised me it works at all.

These large tires on the F350 and the 16 inch Michelins take a lot of Air to get the PSI up... but if I am pleased, which I am the worst critic of anything that does not work as described.

In your garage to add air... COLD PSI. Hot tires at a Service Station... they will let air out as the pressure is UP. So this is a good point to know. The next morning you discover Cold PSI is now below what you wanted... and then... Repeat? Ha ha ha.

Just check it out on the Internet. Nancy wrote $183.32 and order total said $169.15 with estimated tax.

Not cheap... but I am old, really need to spend some money before it is used for campfire starter... and really... don't give a S*%&T when something works.

Once you drive off the Airstream Dealer's Lot... just open your wallet and toss it out the window. You are going for a ride where Tossing Money Out of the Window and a Tire 'Inflator' is one of those toys that seem to work...

A miracle if it will over many years.

Free Air? We can debate that, but convenient.

Ray, did you get it at Home Depot or Amazon, or? I am seeing prices higher than what you paid, but there are different amp hour batteries available as well, how many AH is yours? This might be an option for me as I need small and light weight

I have the Porter Cable cannister type at home; I used to carry in the bed of the PU. I got tired of moving it around, so I got the Vlair 300 model last year, while on sale...think it cost around $165 or so... I have used it 4 times now and it works great. Smaller, easily clips to the battery, has long hose with gauge so I can easily go around both sides with just the hose. I also got the tire/plug kit which came in handy last year while up in the mountains on a dirt road when I hit a screw and got a flat. I use a Milwaukee M12 and a Viair 450.

Both work great. The Milwaukee is really nice for small adjustments , like on a sxs or mountain bike, but will also air up truck tires. I use them both a-lot.

I have one of these and consider it indispensable. What a great little tool! It weighs very little and takes up a small space. I carry it in whichever vehicle I am driving. You just need to make sure you check the battery on a regular basis (quarterly?). It holds a charge a long time, but you don't want it to fail you when you need it. It's also great for airing up your spare tire when you do your battery checks (hint hint)...

It was originally designed for BMW motorcycles - and that's why I bought it back in the day. Over time folks have used them for way more than just Beemers. They were commissioned by guys overseas in the sandbox to fill up their Humvee tires (which are astonishingly large). BestRest products send quite a few to Iraq & Afghanistan for just that purpose.

I like it because it's small, lightweight, 12V battery powered, and has the capacity to fill tires up to the inflation pressures required for my trailer (80 PSI). They aren't inexpensive, but they're all US manufactured and appears to be very well made. I have 3 of them (1 in the bike, one in the truck, one in the trailer).

I am on a long trip and needed to inflate. Looked at the 18 volt models. Bought a Kobalt inflator at Lowes. 110 and 12 volt. Used it on 110. It works good. I did not want to commit my drill batteries to inflation. I just do not boondocks that much and my tires seem to stay inflated pretty well.

I had purchased the DeWalt Max cordless Vacume Kit for my AS and when searching for a portable inflator settled on the DeWalt also. The Vacume kit came with one battery and charger and I use it to power both. Very accurate inflator, the Vac is perfect for truck & AS and they both are easy to stow, and also light weight.

There are a lot of Tire Inflators out there. Some members are adding other options, which is good and prices with theirs, so lots of satisfied customers are the BEST to choose from.

I watched the Airstream Dealer using it. The NON Lithium battery model is less expensive. I figured get the Lithium and will forget what I paid extra, anyways. It had double the charge of the less expensive option.

Prices may vary. Nancy is a sharp shopper. Ordered on October 15 and arrived October 19th. Charged battery and did Eight Tires and put Battery into Charger and it quickly was 100%.

You got a good deal and they are now out of stock on everything except the 2AH version. I may look for the bare tool as I have a lot of M12 lithium stuff, 5 chargers and about a dozen batteries. 2 of my big batteries are 32 WH which converts to 2.67AH and one is 43 WH which converts to 3.58 AH (Milwaukee rounded up and labeled it as 4AH) and all the rest are the little 1.5AH ones.
This could come in very handy especially that counting all our vehicles and bicycles I am in charge of 35 tires! The bikes are the worst, the ones with skinny tires need air all the time.

I prefer a 12 volt extension to run my air compressor from my vehicle battery. Rechargeable batteries on devices start going bad after a couple of years and won't hold a full charge.

Probably sitting in one of the container ships off LA right now. Everywhere I look the reviews are great for this item which is rare for any product anymore.

I do prefer Makita tools as experience in my contracting business shows them to hold up better but the Makita unit got poor reviews and does not have a trigger hold which is somewhat of a deal killer, I can't be crouching down inflating tires with mosquitoes biting me.

I have used the Ryobi 18V inflator for several years. Mine has an analog pressure gauge, but it looks like they have now gone digital. 150 psi, so it handles 110 psi in our road bike tires. I upgraded to a 4 Ah battery, and it lasts well.

Plumbersstock also has one with a 4ah battery for $179 which is the $79 for the bare tool and HomeDepot has the 4ah batteries at $99ea.

It did say 1 was available. I thought it was a method to get people to purchase this model and they had lots of them. Well... this confirms they had ONE LEFT. I have it now.

I unpacked the unit and charged the battery. Then set it to 72psi. Attached it to each of the Airstreams four tires. Then took the tire pressure gauge that I will use to always check tire pressures.

71, 70, 71 and 70.5 psi with the pressure gauge. Set at 72psi on the Milwaukee unit.

How have others worked out and comparing to your tire pressure gauge?

I am sure there are some 'sleepers' out there... After seeing this one operating... and they were happy at Airstream Las Vegas... I am happy now having something that works.

With a lithium powered inverter I use a Campfeld-Hausfeld portable 120v compressor.
You can plug it into at the patio outlets or the refer outlet. Charge the TV using it and a medium duty extensionn cord. Pretty handy.

I love the Milwaukee inflator. It has worked better than the Ryobi I had before and I have a lot of other Ryboi tools. The Milwaukee made such an impression that I bought one for my girlfriend. Mine travels with the Airstream.
