What were the OE tires? (Size, type and LR and recommended inflation?) is your tire load capacity at least 110% of GAWR and have you confirmed your actual axle weight is less than GAWR for each axle?

Trailer is single axle, 4500 gvwr.

Actual load on axle when loaded for a two week trip stuff for three people, with full water, was 3900 lbs.

Previous tires were GYE, 225/75/15. Ran them at 55 psi for a load capacity of 2270 each. This worked well, and reduced the number of sheared pop rivets.

New tires are 235/75/15. Load capacity of 2271 at 42 to 44 psi. Run them at 50 psi.

I have confidence in the Michelins.

Put 6 new Carlisle ST trailer tires on my 2 car 3 axle trailer.

Called Carlisle.

They required me and paid for me to return to them all 6 tires for engineering analysis which I did. They fully refunded me the complete amount for the tires and installation at my insistence.

This was my 1 time trying ST trailer rated tires for installation on any of my 4 trailers.

Big failure.

I went BACK to buying and installing LT rated truck tires on that 2 car 3 axle trailer and have never had a tire issue again!

After several repeated inquiries with Carlisle to find out the results of their defective tire analysis they would never reply!
You mean…Carlisle reimbursed you for failed Tires, INCLUDING Shipping AND Installation…??

Those BASTARDS!!!
