Canadian Tire's $129 Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Has anyone tried this tire pressure monitoring system from Canadian Tire. It seems to provide everything someone with 2-4 tires on their AS would want. Price is only $129 CDN$ this week.

Canadian Tire

Any comments would be appreciated.

I've only seen their commercial for it. I'll be curious to hear any real life reviews of the product.

I bought it and tried it out this week on my truck. It works pretty good. It gives a constant readout of of tire pressure moving from tire to tire. If the pressure goes up or down a set precentage it shows a problem with that tire. If it has a rapid decrease in a tire it sounds an alarm and flashes a red light.
I called the company and they say it will read from 30 meters. I haven't taken the trailer out with it but it does read the pressure on the trailer tires.
The kit comes with locks to keep the sender on the valves and with weights to stick on to counter balance the sender. I used it on the truck without the weights and didn't notice any balance problem.
It was interesting seeing the change in pressure as we travelled. The pressure rose as the speed increased and fell overnight as the tires cooled.

Thnxs Doug for giving us the low down. I too saw them advertised this week in the CDN tire flyer and thought they would be a good idea.

I guess there are 4 sensors and 1 moitoring panel per pkg???

That's right Wayne, 4 screw on the valve stems sensors, and the monitor that plugs into the lighter socket. If you only have a single axel trailer, you could put two on the trailer and two on the back tires of the truck.

Hi, I looked at the web-site and they only deliver to Canadian addresses. How would a state side AS get some of these units?

Don't bother trying to get this. I took mine back for a refund as it only works for about an hour then goes all out of wack. Others, I know, have had the same problem.

Thnxs for the update Doug. Seems like a good idea. Maybe they need to perfect the technology or improve quality control with the product.
