Dexter replaced my brake assemblies under their warranty and paid the labor for my 2021 FC. They shipped some out of round hubs in the 2020-2021 time period. Check with them if i you can. They will need the serial number from the axel.
I lost two tires in one year due to the wheel locking up after releasing the brake pedal. Since the replacement, no issues and 20,000 miles.

I guess prices have changed drastically in last year or so, may also be different drum size, but last spring I did all 4 wheels on our 25 ft stream and paid 625 for each drum with bearings installed from e-trailer. These were never lubes....take note...if bearings are not installed by Dexter...no warranty...this tidbit I got from a very well respected AS dealer on east coast.

That seems just a little bit outrageous.

I believe you can buy the drum with or without the nev-r-lube bearing in it. Swapping the bearing from the old drum to a new drum requires tools/skills that not all shops have. So the price quote may be for the drum+bearing set, which is rather spendy.

Dexter is replacing faulty drums that are so out of round they cannot be turned. JC is aware of it and the recall on the retaining clip also. If this is under warranty should not be on your dime

I contacted airstream and while a 2020 still under the Airstream warranty the Dexter warranty is not transferable from the original owner to the new owner - I bought her used in August. Odd that the warranty doesn't follow the unit.

At one of the international rallies I met Bill Snider who is a Dexter representative. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. I'm not sure if he could help but here is his email address should you wish to contact him. Maybe he could recommend a course of action.

Are you certain the tire is not out-of-round? We experienced something similar on a tire that had belt separation. We had more than one bald spot on a single tire. So bald the belts could be seen.

bald spot tire

My hypothesis is that the brake on that wheel locked up at some point - probably twice considering there were two bare spots while the tread on the rest of the tire was just like the one next to it.
Here are some photos. It’s Thanksgiving and we are scheduled to head back home tomorrow. I don’t have the right tools to pull the drum.
Wondering if I don’t call roadside again - they will dispatch a mobile mechanic (Coach-Net) who can at the very least diagnose the problem so we know what we need to have fixed first thing Friday (if parts can be had.)
Thanks in advance.

I would expect that is what is called a Brake Flat Spot from a Brake lock up. Then a few hundred miles wore it smooth.
