73 soverign hubcap
Does anyone have a picture of an original 73 31ft soverign wheel and hubcap? Were they the baby moon style or the full wheel covers?
Thanks,
Mac

I believe that the wheelcovers that my coach's original owner added in the early 1970s are the same as those that would have been OEM on your coach. The photo below shows the wheelcovers, but not in great detail - - I have an NOS with mint center section that I can probably locate when I am back home in about three weeks for a more detailed photo. The same wheelcover was used on Argosys, but it was usually fully polished with no color in the center.
Good luck with your coach!
Kevin

Kevin.
Bad axles?
Two to three inches of the tires should be visible above the wheel.
In your case, the top of the wheel is partially hidden.

Greetings Andy!
Yes, I know it is time for new axles on the Overlander - - part of the reason it has been out of service most of last summer and all of this summer. The Minuet was treated to a new axle less than a year ago so it has been doing all of the traveling since July of 2003. My plan is to replace the axles in 2006 by which time I should be able to afford the new axles with disc brake upgrade/retrofit package.

Thanks Kevin
We was no sure whether they had baby moon or what.
And by the way you might as well bit the bullet (or Rivet)
and go ahead and get your new axles. We are getting ours
in just any day now. Husband checked today with Inland
and they said they where shipped on the 6th. Thought we
got a good deal but looks like the P/O got the better deal.
Just fixed rear end (had been done before). Replaced all
window seals, resealed windows (had lots of SILICONE).
Waiting on axles. AND POLISH!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. For Andy
I work for a Trailer MFG and I would like to know if the
Dexter Axles Or Alco Axles are any different than what
we are getting from you? They both have Rubber Ride.
Thanks again

After looking at your pic of trailer closer I noticed on top of yours
it looks like you have covers over your windows? Is that something
you added or are ours missing?
Thanks again

My coach is almost a decade older than your '73, and there are a few differences. I belive that the "rain gutter" above the windows had been eliminated with the redesign of the windows after 1965. The window awning was not original to the coach it is something that I had my Airstream dealer add about three years ago. If what you are noticing are the devices above the window awning, those are my solar panels (added by AJL Solar Electric at the Sioux Falls, SD WBCCI International Rally). I have continued the tradition of my coach's original owners in that I have features (such as the 1970s wheel covers) added to my coach that enhance its usefullness or appeal.
Good luck with your coach!

It has to be the solor panels. That sure does make a difference in the looks of your coach. Thanks for the information. Got a reply on who has some hub caps. They want $90.00 for the set. Sent message to get a photo.
Thanks again
Jalina
P.S. We are enjoying our coach had out 1 time bought just purchased last month. Thought we didn't have a lot of work up things do come up without knowing about them. Rear Sag, Axles, Silicone and what not.

Thanks ritchardt for the quick response, and btw I am up!! Not very long but, up. Our are close to what you have in your pic, but the ones we have are flatter and made of plastic. I thilnk I'm still leanin' towards the baby moons though, haven't really decided, so I guess we will lpass on the offer for now, but thanks for the information, gotta go haul some fuel now so everyone can pull their A/S, gotta go and thanks again.
