'66 Safari tires

I'm looking for a set of tires for our "new" trailer, and have a couple of questions.
What's brands are better for mileage?

Are radials essential?

What are proven (by miles pulled) makes and models?

Total loaded weight about 4/4200lbs.

Go with D rated tires or C?m

Thanks folks for helping a newbie get on the road.

"D" tires only.

All your other questions depend on how the tire, wheel, hub and drum are balanced, as an assembly, or not.

The hub and drums in 1967 are as near to being balanced as our federal budget.

I'm scared to use ST tires, Good Year Marathons, ect.
Original equipment was bias 7.00 15 LT's, I have a new set on my 67.
So far so good.
It is hard to find them, usually made in China
