new axle on argosy

well, here it is, a few pictures from my adventures on installing new axles on my 74 Argosy
Thanks to Andy from Inland RV the ordered axles did fit like a glove.

since i did not have a floor jack to raise the axles in place i decided to take two of the stabilizers off and turn them around, fix them on two dollies ( one for each side) and lower the old one and raise the new in. No problems

I will take the new set of wheels for a camping trip next week, just about 150 miles from home.
Is there anything i need to watch out for, new breaks etc??????

Yes.
Stop after 10 miles, and make sure the wheels are still attached, and none of the hubs is hotter than the others. Do this several times for the first trip out, say at 10, 25, 50 100 and when you get to the campground.
On the way back, stop at 10 and 50 miles.

Your photo shows the shock upside down.

Water can collect in that cavity and cause some rust where you don't want it.

That's what you get for following/ installing "how it was before"
so, axles back out and switch the shock

Thanks Andy for pointing this out

You shouldn't have to drop the axles to change the shocks.

If the shock bracket on the torsion arm has a tight fit, just bend it with a croe bar so that the shock can easily slip off.

You can leave that bend in that bracket, if you wish, as it will not cause any problems.
