Need Help finding a hub in New Mexico asap!
Hi I have a 1965 AS in route from the east coast. He had a hub go out on him in El paso. Would you know of a place or a person near him that can get him a replacement? any help would be appreciated

I got a suitable hub for my 62 Flying cloud from these folks. They had it in stock and shipped it the same day. Give them a try.

Check the Airstream website for a dealer list or go to Airstream, Inc :: Home
There are several dealers in Texas and one in Albuquerque. I have serious doubts they would stock something for '65, but they may know where to find it.
Auto and truck service people will know where to get hard to find parts and the best junk yards. You'll probably need new bearings, seal, etc., and maybe new brakes. If this trailer needs new axles and they require different hubs, this is money down the drain.
Maybe it's time to load it on a flatbed and bring it home where you'll have time to make sure it's fixed right. Anything will not be cheap. Good luck.

Might try Oasis RV in Tucson, AZ. It's along I-10 maybe 5hrs away? They've been around a long time. Might have some old parts around.

Tucson is about 300 miles further West on I-10.
Albuquerque is closer at about 240 miles however it is 90 degrees out of the way.
Since it is a '65 a general trailer repair shop may be your best bet.
Today being Sunday, I bet not much is open.

Hey desertair I got it home finally. I have been thru the tear down frame repair sub floor replacement now just waiting on the axles I ordered. Hope to have it back in one piece by the end of August. Got most of the parts now I just need the time. You can check out my progress on my thread or my blog.

Hi Splitrock, not sure probably some half ass janky place. The guy I bought her from was a tool. I knew I would have to replace both axles just by the add on Ebay. The price was right, but the seller was drama. The axles are on their way from Colin Hyde, hope they arrive soon.
1st rookie mistake do not buy sight unseen on Ebay.

Been there, done that. Thanks for the update. I'll have to update my resume when I'm finished with my trailer. :-)

I can't believe there are folks out there that buy...AND PAY...sight unseen. I did it too....and was lucky.

Yeah it wasnt the way I would have had it go down but it could have been worse. People like the seller I delt with pray on our love of trailer restoration. But to give up or give in is not my style. Not gonna let a punk like that take me out!

Thanks desertair I am trying to only post things that I think would be helpful to someone else, based on where I have been in the restoration process. Hope someone finds it useful and encouraging.
