On the other hand, whether that particular design is better or worse than a torsion axle is completely irrelevant and uninteresting, given one of them can't be added to existing trailers at any price. So, why do you guys keep taking us there? Can we just chat about interesting designs in the context of the OP's post without casting shade at each other's trailers and axle designs? Seriously, folks, chill out. <sigh>

I believe you MAY be able to still get an Adjust-a-Ride suspension (have to confirm). Still, you are 100% correct. I did not want to post, but it just ticks me off when folks start bashing other products for no reason... Can't we just promote what we like without bashing other products. And show some level of courtesy towards those who own these "inferior" suspensions, hitches, tires, trailers, etc?

We *all* do better when we remember the primary rule in these forums: "Be nice." That includes those offended by others who aren't being nice in return. It's fine to have differing opinions, even when passionately expressed, but ignoring this rule can result in deleted posts and a mandatory vacation from the forum. [emoji15]

Now, maybe lets talk about those Timbren axles some more. Anybody else with experience putting them on an Airstream?

Stating something is bad or inferior in some manner shape or form is a judgement. (not so good)
Stating this part is less expensive, easier to install or has a range from 0 to 60 versus a 0 to 50 are facts as are known to the user. (A much better post. The reader can determine if the part or service or point works or does not work for them)

So I'm curious if BoldAdventure ended up installing the Timbrens, and if so, how they are doing.


They look like an interesting option, but I'm worried about not having the "bracing/support" of an axle, especially on something big. I'm considering a small off-road build right now though, and wondering if these might be the ticket. I'm just having a hard time finding "real world" experience from someone who has actually installed the Timbren on an Airstream.

Hi, I personally don't think that these axles would work on an Airstream; I can see the frame twisting when bouncing up and down the road. That's why an Airstream needs axles connected from side to side.

I think you are correct..the frame is actually the aluminum body....leave it

Pretty new here but I've done some research on Timbren. There is a square hole designed to fit & weld a 2X2'' bar from side to side.
